Charles Sims, Feather Painter

Wildlife and Indian art painted on turkey feathers

About Me

I was born on my grandfathers farm in Henry county Alabama near the McKay Store community. We moved to Headland in 1956 where I attended school.  I had a great childhood (read more about it at http://blackwhiteinthesouth.blogspot.com/) and graduated high school in 1968.In 1971 I married Sheila Miller and we moved to Mobile, Alabama where I attended the Univ. of South Alabama.  After recieving a BFA degree we moved back to Cowarts, Alabama where we started a family consisting of two daughters.  In 1976 we opened C & S Signs and continue to operate the shop today.

A few years ago I started to paint on feathers and I still love to work on that unique medium.  If you see something that you like e-mail me at charles@candssigns.com  for prices and availability.

This is the Killingsworth House in Columbia, Alabama.  My daughter called it the Tower House.
